7:12 There was 1  a lot of grumbling 2  about him among the crowds. 3  Some were saying, “He is a good man,” but others, “He deceives the common people.” 4

9:27 He answered, 5  “I told you already and you didn’t listen. 6  Why do you want to hear it 7  again? You people 8  don’t want to become his disciples too, do you?”

9:28 They 9  heaped insults 10  on him, saying, 11  “You are his disciple! 12  We are disciples of Moses! 9:29 We know that God has spoken to Moses! We do not know where this man 13  comes from!” 9:30 The man replied, 14  “This is a remarkable thing, 15  that you don’t know where he comes from, and yet he caused me to see! 16  9:31 We know that God doesn’t listen to 17  sinners, but if anyone is devout 18  and does his will, God 19  listens to 20  him. 21  9:32 Never before 22  has anyone heard of someone causing a man born blind to see. 23  9:33 If this man 24  were not from God, he could do nothing.” 9:34 They replied, 25  “You were born completely in sinfulness, 26  and yet you presume to teach us?” 27  So they threw him out.
